LG GD 900 is the first phone which gives meaning to the phrase,” I can see through my phone.” Why So? Just because it is the world’s first transparent design phone. Though the keypad of GD900 is the only part which is transparent. GD 900 is the best competition for iPhone, some say even better than it.

GD 900, a 127 g phone, is a slider smartphone  with 3 inch  TFT touchscreen with 16 m colours. Equipped with S-Class UI and Accelerometer sensor, Multi touch input and proximity sensor for auto turn-off, GD 900 is ready to rule the market and dethrone the present ruler, The iPhone.

Except from just being transparent the keypad of GD 900 also has some vital features, like while using the camera, instead of the touch screen, the keypad can be used as a zoom toggle. That is not it, if the user does not wish leave fingerprints on the screen, the keypad can also be used to navigate through the menus of four different home screens due to its multi-touch control.

GD 900 has thee buttons at the bottom – Accept, Reject and a Multi-Tasking Key. To access the four home-screens, just press the multi tasking key on the first home screen. After the pressing the key the user will be able to see the four screen in the form of 2 dimensional cube.

The four home screens of GD 900 are nothing to be frightened off, as it is made to make navigation simpler. The first screen show all the shortcuts of the phone such as messaging, music, alarms, browser, email, google, gmail, games and gallery. The second screen displays all the widgets which help the user to sort out the look of the desktop.  The third screen displays the contacts through which the user can access all contact on the phone. The fourth screen displays multimedia which includes gallery, music and videos. The user has to just tap any one of the screens to access it.

Except from the from the four home screens, GD 900 also has a main menu which are divided into four categories – Communications, Multimedia, Utilities and Settings. Categories like gallery and contact show only the things which are marked as favorite on the home screen.

Messaging can be done easily. With the help of handwriting recognition software, the user can write whatever needed. The only problem is with the inbox as it can hold only 300 messages at max. There is a separate section for email, where the user can access any email account.

GD 900 is equipped with a 8 Mega-Pixel camera with 3264×2448 pixels resolution. The camera has auto-focus and LED flash. There is also a QVGA camera for video recording and slow motion video recording. There is a secondary camera for video calling.

LG GD 900 is also equipped with features like 3G, GPRS, HDCSD, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HTML browsing GPS and radio. Though there is no official say on the colour of the phone, but GD 900 has been market in black colour at present. GD 900 has a Standard Li-on 1000 mAh battery with a talk time of Up to 6 hrs (2G) / Up to 4 hrs (3G) and Stand By of up to 300 hrs.

LG GD 900 is already available in the market and is sold at an approximate price of € 450 in Europe, $ 635 in United States and Rs 31, 100 in India.

Overall GD 900 is a excellent phone with alot of features similar to iPhone
(which makes it the best competition) but the only problem is that S-Class User interface is a small bit slow and drains the fun out of using the phone.

LG latest version of Chocolate phone is a clamshell (flip) phone, LG MG810, which according to me has been designed to be in competetion with the Motorola Razr Models. LG MG810 is also known as Black Saphire due to its black colour and stylish look. MG810 has not been officially introduced in the world-wide market, so I wont be able to tell all the features at present and also I cant gauranttee that all the information is 100% right, but I have tried to gather as much as perfect information about the phone as possible. But I can assure that the MG810 does exist and that also in South America with names VX8600 and U830.

LG MG810 “Black Sapphire” is a tri-band (GSM 850/1900/1800 Mhz) phone with GPRS and is very thin, it is only 14.6mm thick. The phone has got a dual show; internal and external. The size of internal show is 176×220 and external is 96×96. It consists of FM Radio, mp3 player which supports mp3, AAC and which can also be operated from the external panel. The overall buttons of MG810 are touch-responsive and the main advantage in that is they donnot respond to body heat, so the buttons on the outter panel donnot get pressed and cause excessive battery drainage. Black Sapphire consists of 128 MB flash memory and about the card slot is not known. The connectivity of the phone can be used through only Bluetooth. The phone will retails for approximately 465$ (:-O) when it is introduced in the market.

On 7th July 2009, LG announced and added a new phone to the Black Mark Series  – LG Chocolate, which is an upgraded version of the original LG Chocolate.

The new LG Chocolate will be designed by the same team who designed the original Chocolate but is expected to be a small more stylish.There are no clear images of the phone yet but it is expected to release in August this year.

The details of the new LG Chocolate has not been released yet but through the images one can surely make out the phone is going to be in the competition with the phones available in the market (may be a touch phone which is going to give a tough competition to Apple’s iPhone).

Now the rumor has it that the model number will be BL40 (though that may change) and will probably support HSDPA. The screen is said to have an aspect ratio of 21:9 and a resolution of 800×345 pixels. That is quite wide, much wider than your typical HDTV. And also the phone is expected to have a 5-megapixel camera.

Around 2 weeks ago there were rumors about a LG touch phone, LG BL40. The rumor included what said to be an official teaser of the phone and a leaked promo video. Recently LG introduced a phone with similar styling, LG BL 42.

Though LG officials did not release its technical specifications but as there is a listing o BL40 in the LG site we reckon that it might have the same tech specs as well.

LG BL 42 might have a QVGA screen, capable of showing up to 65K colors, 3G capabilities. It also mentions 3 softkeys but from the photos they are probably not physical. Its interface is based on S Class UI. The phone is said to have a 800 x 345 screen with a  Mega-pixel camera (Schneider Kreuznach optics). The internal space would be around 335 MB which could be extended of-course with the help of microSD card.

As the LG BL42 has not been completely launch with its technical specifications, sources say that there is a slight possibility that the phone may be slider touch phone.

Earlier I had posted on Samsung’s S9110, today I am going to write about its competition in the market, LG GD910. To inform everyone, LG GD910 and Samsung S9110 both are watch-phone. But not only is GD910 LG’s first watch-phone but also it is said to be the most stylish watch-phone in the market. As it is a watch-phone its not only phone but also fulfills the functions of a watch.

On the side of GD910 there are 3 buttons (Cancel, Return and Accept) which practically control the whole navigation of the phone, other navigation can be done directly through touch as it has a TFT capacitive touchscreen. When the Return button is pressed for around 3 seconds,  it activates the voice recognition feature.

The main menu of the phone includes dialing, contacts, tools, music, messaging and settings. In tools there are features like signal strength, alarm, battery status, speaker volume, message inbox and bluetooth.

Though LG GD910 looks like a watch at the end its primary function is to make and receive calls. Making calls is very simple, as the show is touchscreen, type in the number to be called and hit the Accept the button. The user can easily talk to the person in the other with the help of bluetooth headset.

In the top right of GD910 there is a small camera, for video calling, which works likes a normal cellphone camera. Video calling can be done easily with the help of 3G, as according to LG, GD910 is the world smallest fully functional functional watch-phone with 3G.

In the back area of GD910 there is a small structure as shown in the image above which is used for charging the battery of the phone. The Standby battery life of LG GD910 is around 240 hours.

I have written posts on Samsung S9110 and LG GD910 individually but whats the main difference between the two wrist watch cellphones and which one is better, that i am going to write in this post.

Below are  the technical specifications of  Samsung S9110 and  LG GD910 and the result which one is better. Lets see now !!!

Network:
S9110 – GSM 900 / 1800
GD910 – GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900; HSDPA – 2100
Result: GD910 has an upper hand here with a global GSM coverage and support for 3G.

Dimensions and Weight:
S9110 – 57.5 x 41.1 x 11.98 mm; 91g
GD910 – 61 x 39 x 13.9 mm; 84g
Result: GD910 is a 2mm thicker than S9110 but to overcome that GD910 is lighter than S9110

Show:
S9110 – 1.76-inch 256K colors capacitive touchscreen (176×220)
GD910 – 1.43-inch 256K colors capacitive touchscreen (176×220)
Result: S9110 has a slight larger show but except from that both are equal.

Camera:
S9110 – No

Result: LG GD910 is clearly a winner over here with but 40GB internal memory, but Samsung S9110 is still not quite out of the race.

Result: S9110 is ahead in the Bluetooth division as v2.1 gives advantages like simple pairing, enhanced security and power efficiency.

GD910 – Li-ion, up to 2 hours of talk time and 247 hours of standby time
Result: Cant really compare since the data is incomplete.

GD910 – Around $1650 (rumor)
Result: If the rumor price turns out to be right for GD910, Samsung S9110 is the clear winner.

So in light to the comparison between Samsung S9110 and  LG GD910, LG’s wrist watch phone is the clear winner to me. Since LG GD910 has camera, waterproof capability and Text To Speech that gives me all the reason to buy the cellphone and use it as a watch without any worries.

Long time ago, LG had introduced itself in the rumor club with BL42 and after a very long time the rumor has finally come right. The rumored BL42 has been introduced into the market with the name LG BL20, LG Chocolate Edition.

LG BL20 has quad-band GSM support and a 2.4-inch 262K-color QVGA show which is certainly not a touch screen. There’s stereo Bluetooth, FM radio and a microSD card slot for expanding the built-in 130MB of memory. Quick data transfers are handled through 3G and HSDPA 3.6Mbps.

There is no news about the release date and its price. Hope to know about it soon.

LG who have established their position in the market are introducing LG Black Mark 2 Chocolate phone ( also known as KV6000),the next generation phone which will be in the market in the early 2007.

To the date, the developers of the phone have not revealed its technology. The features of the handset is also kept secret to some amount. LG have assured that Black Mark 2 phone will be a different phone compared to all the other chocolate phones. KV6000 is set to target at fashion-conscious crowd. The Phone is expected to be priced around $530. LG is constantly concentrating to catch the market through middle class people, as there is huge number of middle class people. They are quite successful too catching the market through these people. To be in the market LG have introduced a new phone – LG KE600.

KE600 has really got some unique looks which at present is rarely to be seen. The phone has got a gorgeous looking body. KE600 also contains a wheel which helps the user to scroll through messages, phonebook, etc. The music payer is fantastic ,it has got excellent quality of output. The phone can play MP3 as well as MPEG4. Music is not the only thing it has in it. KE600 is integrated with 2MP camera with flash, autofocus and video. The connectivity of the phone can be used only through GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth and USB. Infrared Port is absent in it, Sorry
