Survey ranks mobile internet networks

An independent survey of UK mobile networks has ranked Vodafone as the fastest network for downloading webpages. The report, by network measurement firm Siroda – which carried out the research on behalf of rival network O2 – found that in tests across the uk’s 20 largest cities Vodafone was the fastest in five of them. O2 was considered to be the fastest for downloading music tracks, coming top in 12 out of the 20 cities. The tests were carried over a 60 day period at 150 locations and during various times of day. It’s thought that consumers may increasingly be focusing on network choice as well as handsets as the popularity of mobile browsing increases.
